Favicon should be easy...

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

Favicon should be easy...

Post by allihies »

CMS Version

1.9.4.1

Hi, my first post, I am trying to get the favicon to work on my site www.irishgrass.com making the site was very easy BTW. But I just can't seem to get the favicon.ico to work. It is in the root of my site and in the "view page source" the code is showing. Which BTW I simply inserted using "site admin" then "global settings"...

I have used the favicon on several of my sites over the years but this is the first timeI use CMS.

Thanks

If I go to your website, I do see a favicon. It's a little house, correct?

What's the problem?

This happens ALL the time, you don't see an updated favicon.ico even if you refresh the page, shut and restart your browser, restart Apache, etc. and you think it's not working.

It's the browser, for some reason, browsers are stupid about favicons and don't update them.

TIP: go to http://whatever.com/favicon.ico directly in your browser. That forces the browser to see the new file. After that, when you go to the page, you'll see the new icon.
