Caching errors after updating content

Post by aceunreal »

Hi,

I am having caching errors every time or almost every time I am updating a "common" global content blocks, e.g footer.

I suppose this is happening when a user is accessing the site while the cache is being deleted from "template_c" and it often results in {no cache} errors.

I usually click on "Clear Cache" in the the admin panel - Global Settings but sometimes I need to click 5 times or more in order not to have these errors anymore which is not great. It is like I need to Clear the cache several time in order to make sure all files are deleted.

Is there any work around / solution to avoid that problem? (and Yes I need the caching to be on not off for obvious reasons).

For your information, I do have a lot of pages on my site and a lot of visitors which does not help.

Thank you for your help,
Ace

I had a problem like this once and it was to do with my server time not being in sync. Can't remember exactly what I did, but my cms time and my server time weren't sync'd.

Just a possibility!

The thing is, I have had many CMS MS instances (various sites) on many different servers and I always had that problem. Obviously the more visitors you have on your site higher the risk is to have such an issue.

I personally do think if an user is visiting your site at the exact moment the caching files are being deleted it will result in caching issues.

Is anybody has had a similar issue? And how to fix it?

I have about 130 files in the tmp/cache folder and 700 in the /tmp/template_c folder which takes some time to delete...

Thank you again,
