News return url adding index.php ?

News return url adding index.php ?

My current home page (type page) has the following content:

{cms_module module="news" category="" }
http://www.ngr78.co.uk

and nothing else. I have the .htaccess file and mod rewrite working fine apart from when I get to a news article on my homepage the return url has an index.php added.

This does'nt happen if I go through my news page (type news).
http://www.ngr78.co.uk/site_news/
