Is there a preferred method to upgrade cms made simple

I mean between diff or full package. Ive found some posts pointing sometines to faulty diff builds. But on average and considering easyness which is your preferred way to keep cms made simple upgraded.

I generally upload the full distro; unless it's a security patch, I don't do the incremental upgrades. However I have found recently especially between 1.8.x and 1.9.x some of the modules lag behind. I had to drop a site back down to 1.8.x to take advantage of a must-have module (I can't remember which one now offhand).

So bear that in mind if you are moving to the latest and greatest.

Also, if you are upgrading from some old version of CMSMS, it's best to do it incrementally, hitting the major revisions.

I suppose that is hard for module developers to keep up to date when some change disturb the workings of their soft. Ill try to keep it up to date so there are no big jumps in versions. And well, ill keep a fresh copy before doing changes.
