Site working but can't access admin

My site has been working fine for over a year. The last two weeks, I have been making changes to the site through the admin panel. Login has worked just fine. Today when I tried to access the admin panel, I get the following error mesage: Username or password incorrect.
When I checked the config.php, it showed the correct password. I also looked in cms_users from phpmyAdmin, and it showed the correct username and password, as well. I tried accessing from a different computer and still got the same results. I don't know what to try. It seemed from reading other posts that I might night need to clear the system cache in the admin. but since I can't do that, i don't know how.
suggestions would be helpful.

Yes, I did try that three times but I never received the email. When I am in the site and fill out the contact us form, I get that email delivered. So I don't know why the 'forgot password' is not working either.

If it isn't sending you email on forgot password is a chance it doesn't have an email address for that user, you may have to use the mySQL query to reset it in DB...

I had originally prepared the site on my computer using WAMP. I exported the sql database using phpmyAdmin. I then imported that into phpmyAdmin on the server and everything is working fine now.
