Pretty URL's in Search Results

I have got pretty URL's working on my news module and I can specify whatever url I want for individual news items - This all works fine. But when I use the search module the search results display the news items using the default url not the pretty url.

Is there any way to make the search results use the pretty url instead?

I am using CMS Made Simple 1.9.2
with News 2.11
And Search 1.6.8
Running on Apache with mod_rewrite
