Search Module stopped working efficiently

I was initially having a few problems with the search module - for example, on my site, there are around 15 pages that include the term "abbey national", however, using the search module, it only found 2 pages (incidentally, all of these pages are located within the questions module).

Anyway, I started playing with the search module options, and now, the query "abbey national" doesn't return ANY results!

The only things I changed were: turning on and off word stemming, clearing statistics and clicking "re-index content".

If nothing else works, uninstall and reinstall module after making a complete backup of website. That should force reindex of everything, but I don't know much about this module.

Same here. I did an upgrade from cms 1.6.6 to 1.9.2 and now the site search only returns 12 results when it should return 42 for a specific keyword. I have un-installed and re-installed the search module via the module manager but not removed it as it not a stand alone module. This particular site most of the data which is being searched on resides in the CGBlog module which maybe the issue as this seems to be quite a buggy module. I upgraded another site from 1.8.2 to 1.9.2 and the site search seems to be working ok as the data is stored as pages and the news module.

If anyone has had a similar issue or has any ideas as to how this might be rectified then I would be most grateful.
