i working on finishing a module

yes i am FINISHING a module ;p but i need some help with mysql the module has 4 check boxes, and if the box is checked i need it posted to the database and if unchecked, i dunno, not posted i guess and then in the admin side i need a total for the number of boxes checked so if 4 boxes are check the total would be 4 and if 3 the total would be 3 and so on and so fourth

Are you writing the module against 0.9rc3? Using the new API and all that?
