I see that it is possible to set a template for all pages in the template management admin page.

Another thing that would be useful is to set a template as default. This means that in the Template dropdown list in new content/news admin pages the default template will be pre-selected.

This could be a useful feature if there are unexperienced users adding contents and news to the CMS.

There is a default theme setting at the bottom of the site preferences page as well.

Ok. Thanks. Thats exactly what I need.

How should this work? When I select a default template and then try to add new content it is not pre-selected.

I also think it would be more logical to have it in the Template admin page.

You know what? I wasn't awake this morning. :) I completely read that differently...

I agree it's a good idea to be able to set a default template, sort of like how a default page is set in the Content Manager. It shouldn't be too terribly difficult to do that. I'll see if I can tonight.
