To be honoust, the way you present yourself, you're asking for it.
We all know you are HansDampf and we all know you are trying to annoy the sh*t out of the devs.
This time I fully understand Calguy's decision.
The best way to get bugs fixed?

Re: The best way to get bugs fixed?
Well, a bug is a bug is a bug, impartial of who submitted the issue
Can't judge if Hans Dampf (or Pheidippides, if you are right) was "trying to annoy the sh*t out of the devs" in the past, but this bug report is concise and matter-of-fact. (Or is the report of a bug in itself annoying? That would be strange to me)
Calguys 'message' on the other hand is provocative and inappropriate (at least to me
).
Whatever. Independent of the standing of Hans Dampf and Calguy I think a bug is a bug and it will not go away by simply ignoring/closing it, no matter the reason.

Re: The best way to get bugs fixed?
I fully agree with your last sentence, but the way this person (whatever username he uses at the moment) presents himself is something I would not accept, it's childish behaviour. Nothing more, nothing less.Independent of the standing of Hans Dampf and Calguy I think a bug is a bug and it will not go away by simply ignoring/closing it, no matter the reason.
It is not the message (bugreport) itself, it is his general behaviour in this forum and the way he writes things down. As short as possible, not asking if something can be done, but demanding something is done. A big difference, if you ask me. The dev's are not here to do exactly what we tell them to do, but to weigh the importance of things and decide if it is something to go along with. Remember, we are all volunteers!
If this bug is such a problem, why is it not in the 1.9.2 topic? Why are there not more topics about this problem?
Maybe it is not that big of a problem and is this person trying to annoy the sh*t out of the devs by constantly trying to tell them that they didn't do a perfect job with the latest release.
Nothing is ever perfect, there will always be little things to repair or fix. It's not fair to be acting this way. If you ask me, if you know everything so well, why not do it yourself, start a project and do whatever makes you feel good, but don't spoil the fun for all the happy CMSMS users!
I'm not a team member, I'm not in the position to tell if this bug is false or not, nor am I aware of the full story with the German board. But I think this has gone too far/is going to far.
In the openletter to CMSMS topic 'HansDampf' wrote the following post:
He admits that he has (had) more than one profile on here, that he has been banned in the past. If we look at the posts from those users, you're lying if you are telling me that he was not trolling around.HansDampf wrote: Now I will tell you a secret ;=)
I got banned from this forum without discussions 4 times in the last years ..
My profiles:
Connie => jazzbüro => Avantart => wdberatung => HansDampf
That alone would be something to give him a life-time ban, in my opinion.
After that post 3 newly registered users appear (Assange, winkelman and openletter) who are doing nothing more than trolling, flaming and trying to do everything to make CalGuy look like an asshole. In my book, if you admit to have multiple profiles and new ones appear that speak in your favour, you know more about it.
The problem between CG and a couple of members from the German board should not be a excuse to behave badly all over the forums!!
This is a community. This means that we work together and have the same goal (a beautiful CMS), not that we try to put people down and make their (voluntairy) job as difficult as can be.
Make your community a better place!
Re: The best way to get bugs fixed?
Connie, I think you are the prototype example of what SjG described here http://forum.cmsmadesimple.org/viewtopi ... =40&t=2661 under "How not to ask for help" point 2 and 3.
Maybe you are not that explicit as described there, but I read it between the lines.
That is not necessary of course, but...
I am sure you are very good in your job as a 'bugfinder'. I hope CMSms can benefit from your efforts to finding and reporting them. But please leave the unnecessary sentences away

Is one of those sentences that adds nothing to a bugreport but can easily be read the wrong way.HansDampf wrote:My clients expect a working system and so do I.
