[solved] WYSIWYG in CMS 1.1 Please help me :)

Post by Tobes »

Hi Everyone,

Im sorry to trouble you, I switched off the wysiwyg (backend) on a friends cms made simple 1.1, I did this by editing some of his code, but for the life of me cant find or remember what page and what code I edited to turn it off.

I need to get it back on, please can you help me solve this :)

I switched it off a while ago because we had some trouble that needed fixing, and I found a post here about a year ago on how to switch it off via the backend code, but cant find the post to switch it back on.

Here is the website, I would appreciate your help.

In GlobalSettings there is a preference for the Frontend-Wysiwyg to be used.

In UserPreferences, there is the tick for the Backend-wysiwyg to use.

Hi I can not see a setting for wysiwyg in Global Settings, and it is enabled under "User Preferences"

The problem is I think I may have edited some code or commented out some code to switch it off via the .php files themselves, hence I cant remember where I may have edited the code to switch it off.

I appreciate your help as my friend cant use the website without wysiwyg.

Hopefully you will have a better idea than me as to what I may have edited via FTP.

Thanks

Cant tell, as 1.1 is ancient ;)

Currently version 1.8.2 is out, with 1.9 upcoming.

Somewhere around then, TinyMCE was introduced as wysiwyg, before that FCKEditorX was. Both old versions AND hacked files arent supported.

It is hard to tell what file of the several 1000 you modified.....

You could use the DL-package of the version you use to overwrite the existing files with the default package, or even better upgrade....

But that will only work if you didnt modify other files, but as said that is not supported ;)

hia Ronny, I have fixed it, I had backups from a while ago, and I just replaced the TinyMCE module and it all came back on.

Great.

Thank you very much for your time this morning Ronny.
