[solved]Random filemtime errors when refreshing site

I'm getting these errors sometimes when refreshing pages on a client's site:

Warning: filemtime() [function.filemtime]: stat failed for *cms-root*/tmp/templates_c/59^%%70^707^707A8977%%content%3Acontent_en.php in *cms-root*/lib/smarty/Smarty.class.php on line 1410

I found one thread about this same error, but it didn't have a solution other than calling the hosting company's tech support.

CMSMS version: 1.8.2
PHP: 5.2.14

My hosting company did a custom php.ini for me. The error should be gone now.
