[solved] Pretty URLs require menu entries?
[solved] Pretty URLs require menu entries?
I have a web site with cmsms 1.8.2 with pretty urls, and most things work beautifully. The problem I have is as follows: One of the subtrees I would like to not have in the menu, but link "locally" from inside other pages. This works OK as far as linking goes, but the Pretty URL system seems to be inactive for those pages. They are shown as http://my.site.edu/index.php?page=PageAlias, just as before Pretty URLs. Is this a known problem, a design decision, or an important feature? Is there a fix for it?

Re: Pretty URLs require menu entries?
Hi Leif,
I just switched my site to pretty urls too. I hadn't realized my pages that are reached only through the interior links were not using the pretty urls. I just edited the pages with those links, broke the existing links, then linked them again. They now use the pretty urls.

Of course it works as expected. CMSMS is clever, but not clairvoiant. I had missed to break and reset a couple of links, and jumped to the wrong conclusions.
I apologize for wasting people's time.
