help! I can only see HTML

Hi there,

Been using CMSMS for years for my theatre company's website. For some reason, when I go to pages and click on any page, it's only showing me the HTML, rather than the shortcut buttons (i forget the correct term for those)

Anyone have any idea why or how I can get back to it looking the way it ALWAYS has for me updating the site?

please provide more information.

what version of CMSMS are you using?  Are you referring to the admin side of the site, or the public side?  Do you have a link?  when you say you see HTML instead of "shortcut buttons", can you be more specific?

post a screenshot?

Hi,

I think Abby means the WYSIWYG (Wizzy-wig) editor?

Go to *My Preferences (tab) > User Preferences (dropdown) then in the first dropdown on that page select 'TinyMCE' as your editor. Click submit at the bottom, and then return to your content pages. You shouldn't see the HTML anymore.

Hi there,

Thank you for your reply.  Yes, I meant the WYSIWYG editor.

I did what you said--the editor was the "FCKeditorX."  I switched to TinyMCE" and it didn't change the problem.  I'm so confused as to how this even happened.  That said, I'm attaching a screenshot of what I'm dealing with and hopefully this might get me some help.

Also click on your options tab on that page. Is the a checkbox anywhere that says 'disable wysiwyg on this page, regardless of user settings' ? You may have to uncheck it and submit.

It looks like your using a very old version of CMSMS, you will have to upgrade or get your web designer to do it if you require further assistance from any of the devs here (if we can't help). The only versions currently supported by the cmsms devs are 1.8.1 and 1.8.2.

There are numerous post as to how to fix this problem, most relate to permissions of the modules folder and modules/tinyMCE folder or hitting the Reset to default settings in tiny admin advanced tab...
