News module not working

I upgraded from a previous version of CMSMS, the news module is not working now. When I upgraded CMSMS I had it write over all the data in the database, a clean install. All the data was written over except the old news items for some reason. I still have old news items from before the re-install but I can't add new ones, when I go to add article and hit submit it goes back to the list view but the new article doesn't get added to the news section!

if you goto Extensions » Modules and clik uninstall News then clear cache then go back to Extensions » Modules clik install News if should work...
