Error on installing 1.8.2

I have installed CMSMS numerous times without any issues. I tried to install it and I got this error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /home/content/d/o/i/doitrightbb25/html/CMS/lib/test.functions.php on line 36

I got this when I just tried to run the install. I tried version 1.8 and got the same which is weird cause I just install that on a different server. Could this be an issue if the server is Windows based?

No, probably you have a php < 5.2.4
Look your host configuration or try with 1.6.8
