editcontent.php is completely blank - everything else seems to work fine

Post by ece_utah »

Server:  Apache/2.2.3 (Red Hat)
CMS: CMSMS 1.4.1 "Spring Garden"

All content-editing pages are completely blank!

I was attempting to upgrade from 1.4.1 to 1.8.2 when the initial page of the upgrade informed me that PHP 5.2.x was required to upgrade (I'm running 5.1). I stopped upgrading the CMS and reverted to a previous snapshot of the directory, restoring the site from backup. I also restored the MySQL database from a previous dump.

Everything looks and works as it had before the attempted upgrade except for the Edit Content pages. I can view all pages in my site (listcontent.php), but when I click the title of a page to edit it, I get a blank section where the normal page editing form appears.

(Header, menus are intact, only the page editing form has disappeared.)

Specifically, it looks like the page stops processing after printing this to the source:

I have tried overwriting editcontent.php with the original file from the installation bundle - same problem appears.

Meanwhile, I have resorted to editing pages directly in the database.

Any advice, insight, help would be great!

If developers don't tell you what's going on then send me all login info and I can take a look.

Thanks for the help offer - since I don't see any developers popping in to offer a quick fix, I'm guessing it's not something common and probably not worth the time to investigate. (I was hoping it was like "Oh just make this small change in config.php" or something.)

I'm installing the newest PHP on my web server right now, and I plan on a fresh CMSMS 1.8.2 installation to migrate everything over. I want to try some mods like FrontEndUser and really needed an upgrade.

You can upgrade to 1.6.8 ....
Have you enable debug in config.php and look your server logs?
