Chez Vous Chamonix Holiday Rentals Website

Post by clj83 »

Holiday rentals website with multi language functionality.

http://www.chezvouschamonix.com

The site is running on CMSMS 1.8.1. The main modules being used are CGCalendar, FrontEndUsers, Formbuilder and News.

Users can search for properties based on chosen criteria and/or availability date. Live availability and prices are shown for each property.

I also built a staff area accessable through Front End Users in order to simplify things as much as possible for the client. They can control the properties, bookings, blog and main content blocks from this control area. I have added a few screenshots of this staff area to this post.

Great Site, I have been working on an accomodation site www.goldstarsofthelakes.co.uk. Ive used CMSMS but I am new to this type of development.

I like the changing header, is that done with jquery?.

One point I noticed is that you can do an availability search with the finish date before the start date.

Keep up the good work!!

Hi dsaxon, Thanks for the comments. Your were right about the search but I think I have corrected that now, thanks for the tip.

The chaning header is indeed done with JQuery, there are plenty of Jquery slider plugins available to use.

Thanks

Wow!  Great website.  I am converting a phpwebsite to CMS and am wondering how you created the availability search on the home page.  Which module did you use?

I'm finding that while CMS offers a great number of modules, there are very few code examples that allow someone new to the CMS structure to get a feel for how something like your home page was done.  Except for the tag needed to call the module everything else seems to add to a long learning curve.

Great site!

Hello clj83,
Your website is realy beautiful and different for "modules only" website.
Can you please explain how I can implement such a advanced search in a CMSMS website.
Thank for the help.

Hi Elkman & Zounars,

Thanks for the comments. The search on the homepage is simply done using the in built search functionality in the CGCalendar module. I have seriously tweeked the search results template using smarty, no need to hack the core, to make the results display only properties which are available.
