How do I move the editing screen to te left hand side?
My editing screen is set in the middle of the screen and due to the width of the table I am using, this disappears off the RHS making it impossible to select / edit the furthermost cell contents. How do I position the editing area to start at the LHS? Grateful for any suggestions

Not sure if this is what you're looking for...but if you look into the options of TinyMCE, you can specify the width of the editor screen. If this is not what you're looking for, could you please give us some more details on where/what you're editing etc.?

Re: How do I move the editing screen to te left hand side?
HI r00ki3 and thanks for the interest. When I look at the tiny MCE options the "test area" block starts immediately at the left hand margin and its width can be altered as you suggest. Whereas my editing area starts about a quarter of the way across the screen which means that as I have its width set at 800px it disappears of the RH edge of the screen. I need to change something so that it starts at the left hand edge of the screen but I don't know what!!

That's weird, almost sounds like a browser issue...have you ever tried going back to default settings for TinyMCE?
Disabling tinyMCE / Enabling would also help in some cases...
Good luck!

Hi r00ki3,
Here is a further update after your last message.
It's not the browser, I usually use Firefox but I have just tried with explorer and got exactly the same problem.
I then changed to FCKeditor and it's still the same. Could it be something in the template or CSS (neither of which I created)?
Any more ideas anyone??

Use Kompozer as external html editor. Copy you html to Kompozer, edit and paste edited content back to textarea (TinyMCE disabled).

To move tiny to the left hand side of the browser window you would need to edit some CSS in the admin theme you use, have you tried the older default theme?...

Hi, I'm not sure what you mean, I am using CSSMenu top +2 columns as the CSS style. I don't think it's been changed from the original. tks

This to me sounds like you are asking about the wysiwyg editor that appears when you edit/make a page, this is controlled by CSS etc. in the admin or in the PHP of tiny itself, it has nothing to do with the template your using for the page...How do I position the editing area to start at the LHS?

Re: How do I move the editing screen to te left hand side?
Tks Dr.CSS for that. I am using CMS 1.5.4 and have tried both TinyMCE and FCKeditor and they both have the same effect, ie the wysiwyg editor screen does not start at the LHS but starts about 1/3 of the screen from the left. I don't understand how I have any control over the CSS of the editor itself. Does anyone else have this problem?Dr.CSS wrote:This to me sounds like you are asking about the wysiwyg editor that appears when you edit/make a page, this is controlled by CSS etc. in the admin or in the PHP of tiny itself, it has nothing to do with the template your using for the page...How do I position the editing area to start at the LHS?

It starts in the same place for everyone and you are the first to say anything about it being a problem, care to post a screen shot of what the problem looks like...
BTW. you should be using the latest version as we only troubleshoot/support the last 2 versions of CMS Made Simple...
