Install OK - Fails on Admin log-in

Hi
Installed v0.12.1  4times, then tried v 0.12.2  3times and now v0.13beta4  twice.

After install is successfull on all versions, and at homepage, going to admin one cannot log-in.
When using correct admin user/pass it returns to log-in page, but when incorrect user or pass used it says "incorrect..."

It just reverts back to
http://localhost/cmsmadesimple/admin/login.php

I am using a Home PC and installing at localhost for testing.

Win98SE
Apache 3-23-49
PHP 4.3.1
phpMyAdmin 3.8.0.3

Below is my CMSMS config, do I need to send more info ? apache httpd.conf ,  php.ini,  phpinfo.php  ??

there have been few people with this problem and it seems to be related to php's md5() function

You do have cookies enabled in your browser?

The only cookies I find at time of hitting Admin Login is

logo.gif
and
style.css

Is that all there should be ?

I looked in c:\windows\cookies

only ones for CMSMS on localhost

you could try installing XAMPP package which has apache php and mysql in one clean installation package (havent really used it myself but others have said its good)

Thanks, I'll try XAMP sometime, but do not yet have broadband, using normal phoneline in RSA it would take hours to download.

But on the other hand, how come I can get PHPNuke and many other CMS's(30+) installed on Win98 and running.(none are any good)

I have had a few posts and followed all I could on this forum, but so far no luck.

I wonder if the others who I see have the same problem ie when logging in to Admin, gets returned to login, are maybe also running Win 98

Hi - just wondering how you went on that install. Did you fix it? If so what was the problem?
