After upgrade to 1.8, Admin -> Content -> Pages shows BLANK

After upgrade to 1.8, Admin -> Content -> Pages shows BLANK

Nothing shows up under "Pages" after upgrading to 1.8.

Error received is:
Notice: Undefined index: direction in /var/www/vhosts/mysite.com/httpdocs/admin/themes/default/defaultTheme.php on line 224

Even worse, all the image links are broken and I can't hard code the full URLs since I cannot access the Content -> Pages section of the admin section.

Any help would be appreciated.

TEMPORARILY SOLVED.  Downloaded fix.  But then stopped working again.  Seems to be related to some type of excessive processing that CMS Made Simple does that just breaks the listing of the content pages.
