RSS as input for News

RSS as input for News

I'm wondering if anyone has a suggestion ( or better, an example) for using an external RSS feed as input to the News module.

I have been working with the CMSSimplePie module and getting the feed just fine, but have not seen a way to input the articles to the News module.
Is this a good way to go, or should I just use the feed in a regular page?
