PayPal Integration

Has anybody out there ever gotten the Calguy E-Commerce suite to work? I can get the manual checkout process to work as advertised. However, the checkout with Paypal will not complete. I'm running all the latest modules on 1.7.1. Here's the admin log:

I get the POST from PayPal with a transaction ID but never see the PaypalGateway POST back with the variables and token, etc. Have tried just about everything but just can't get this to work. The gateway_complete template comes back with an empty status variable and the transaction remains in a "Proposed" state even though PayPal's Sandbox site shows a completed payment.

Can anybody point me to a site that is using this stuff successfully? Something tells me it doesn't really work.
