[Solved] Install issues, getting a Parse Error on index.php

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

[Solved] Install issues, getting a Parse Error on index.php

Post by SOLAAR »

Howdy folks, I've tried my hand at Joomla and Drupal without much luck.  I'm no internet genius, so when I got to play around with the CMS ME, I was astounded by the ease of use it offered.  So I deleted the Joomla installation and proceeded to upload CMS ME.

But here's the problem.  Upon installation, I get this error:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /homepages/0/d331508155/htdocs/myurlgoeshere/lib/test.functions.php  on line 29
(Red text is mine)

I'm on 1&1 Hosting, so it should have everything required.  But I'm not exactly sure what version numbers they are.  I'd be thankful for any help in setting this up! :)

Wrong PHP version. You need 5.2.4. Post more info next time. Call 1and1. Their tech support is very good. Also, http://faq.1and1.com/scripting_languages_supported/php/php5_upgrade/4.html

Thanks for the reply, unfortunately I don't know the exact version numbers like I stated in my original post or else I would have included them.

I'll try to do the update. :)
