FCKeditor + Firefox behaves CRAZY

Post by zsero »

I am going really CRAZY!
OK guys, I have a clean installation of Mozilla (latest) and cmsms.

My system is xp 32, I a win2003 xampp apachfriends server (latest) for testing, my ISP is a linux provider.

I've made some test (few hours...)
Firefox Hungarian + cms on ISP2: works
Firefox Hungarian + cms on ISP1: big rectangle with 1 pixel black border
Firefox Hungarian + cms 0.12.1 on win32: some of the icons are broken, 2 of them are loaded, editor window is a small rectangle without borders
Firefox Hungarian + cms 0.11.2 on win32: big rectangle with no border
Firefox Hungarian + cms demo site: big rectangle with 1 pixel black border
Firefox English + cms on ISP2: works
Firefox English + cms on ISP1: works
Firefox English + cms 0.12.1 on win32: some of the icons are broken, 2 of them are loaded, editor window is a small rectangle without borders
Firefox English + cms 0.11.2 on win32: big rectangle with no border
Firefox English + cms demo site: works
FCKEditor demo works with everything!

Have a look at ISP1 phpinfo here: http://www.sporaarchitects.hu/site/test.php
Have a look at ISP2 phpinfo here: http://kek.org.hu/test.php

EDIT: If I install xampp to localhost (xp32), it works with the english browser.

Not sure what you are trying to say here zsero. It looks like maybe a path issue on the win32 versions for the broken icons? The rest could be down to the different configurations and different versions between the Web Servers or even the difference between the Hungarian and English versions of Firefox?

These are the working ones?
Firefox Hungarian + cms on ISP2: works
Firefox English + cms on ISP2: works
Firefox English + cms on ISP1: works
Firefox English + cms demo site: works
FCKEditor demo works with everything!

These have some problems?
Firefox Hungarian + cms on ISP1: big rectangle with 1 pixel black border - you can change the CSS to remove or modify the border. It is so long since I looked at a default install I can't remember if it is supposed to have one or not? Not sure why it is happenign though.

Firefox Hungarian + cms 0.11.2 on win32: big rectangle with no border, it is an old version but looks the same as the one above?

Firefox Hungarian + cms demo site: big rectangle with 1 pixel black border

Firefox English + cms 0.11.2 on win32: big rectangle with no border

Firefox Hungarian + cms 0.12.1 on win32: some of the icons are broken, 2 of them are loaded, editor window is a small rectangle without borders. Could be a path thing, check your config.php and your IIs setup.

Firefox English + cms 0.12.1 on win32: some of the icons are broken, 2 of them are loaded, editor window is a small rectangle without borders. Could be the same as above.

I think you need to test again on your desired platform with a single version on CMS? Then perhaps we can see where the errors are coming from, at the moment there seems to be too many variables.

Russ
p.s. You could of course be going crazy ;-)

Hi,

First of all, a black border doesn't matter for me, but what I saw was nothing but a black border (read no UI at all).

OK, w2k3 apache sux, so we can skip those. To be clear:
comparing cmsms demo and fckeditor demo, cmsms demo only works correctly with English Firefox (maybe with other Western European versions too), whereas fckeditor demo work with all versions of Firefox (version means language version).

Just download a non-english Firefox install (Hungarian or Polish or something), and try looking at the official demo!

(Last night my post was a bit unclear ::) )

OK zsero, got you now :) I'd log a bug in the bug tracking as this looks like a problem with the core, all other things being equal.
