Forum made simple - giving invalid argument errors

Hello,
I hope you can help with this - as i'm baffled, thought the solution may be clear.
essetially i keep getting bug erros like the following:
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/directories/.../.../.../.../modules/Forum/action.admin_new_forum.php on line 54
and this: as above but in this file when in the settings tab admin_tab_settings.php on line 13
and finally here: modules/Forum/action.admin_edit_forum.php on line 68 when editing a forum.

using cmsms 1.6.6 bonde
and forum 0.9.2

I reinstalled the module, and looked at the code - but at that point i was out of my depth.
I'd be very grateful for help and pointers to fix this and use it as an aid to learning more about how cmsms is put together.
