[solved]Admin pages magical disappearance: Where did my admin section go?

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

[solved]Admin pages magical disappearance: Where did my admin section go?

Post by jchelpdeskwv »

If you look at the attached PDF you will see what I mean.  Below the Top menu in the Admin section there is nothing but a blank area.   No matter what I select from the menu, what I get is a blank page.

I had this problem with Apache so I switched to XAMPP.   Other than reinstalling the entire thing again in yet another instance of xampp (because with a fresh install it works with no problems, until it breaks again), what else can I do?

Here is my system information:
XAMPP 1.7.1
CMSMadesimple 1.7
MySQL client version: 5.0.51a

More information:
I had installed and setup CMSMS and had an entire website done.  Last accessed yesterday.   Computer was never turned off.  Today can't access.   Did not install any modules or plugins in the last week.  Running on XP Pro.   Cleared temp files in case the server was cranky.  I use both Firefox and IE.  Neither one displays anything on the page, other than the top menu.

Thanks.

could be a memory issue, what is your php_memory_limit set to?

I installed and reinstalled xampp about three times yesterday and that momentarily brought the admin pages.  Until I logged off.  Now I am back to blank pages.    I tried the installation/uninstallation again to no luck.    Is this an issue with 1.7?

Ok, this is getting a little bit ridiculous.

I moved the website from one XAMPP server to another.  It worked fine for a day.  Today I tried to log into the admin section and again "the disappearing" admin pages.  I can only see the top menu on the admin pages, anything below that is blank.

Here is what I have done:
1. Defrag and cleaned computer files
2. Increased memory to the program.

What could be causing this issue?  How can I resolve it without having to reinstall again and again?

Another turn for the weird.

I connected to the server from another computer and my admin pages showed everything *sigh of relief*
But logging in the  server is still showing me the same blank pages.
Well, at least I can work!

Ok, claimed victory too fast.
I logged off the second computer and then logged back on and found the same blank pages.  arg.

I am now on my 4th install.  Switching to XAMPP 1.7.3.  from 1.7.1

Clear cache in both your browser and CMSMS. Post your config.php here.

Thank you variable.  Until now I had relied on clearing the cache or reinstalling.  I will give your suggestion a try.

Setting the option to none in mySQL did the trip.  Thank you so much variable!
