Statistic module
Statistic module
Hi all,
I have installed the stats module provided by wiki site but It doesn't seem to work... When I click on module/statistics under admin all I have shown is the stat options on the left plus a blank graphical stats on the right side.
No stats have been showing so far. Is there anybody out there that has installed that module and had problems? Or mayble let me know if I'm doing something wrong...
Cheers.

Hey Webby
I mashed together what I had done so far, so you can see some progress. It's not that impressive, and certainly not finished, but have a look at it... more features later...
Cheers

Re: Statistic 0.2
Hello Ploc
In what version of CMS did you try to install it? I uploaded a new version last night 0.3.1 which is ported to the upcoming 0.9-release. 0.2 was 0.8-only and is not maintained anymore.
But apart from that, what went wrong? Did it report errors or simply didn't do statistics?
Best regards

Re: Statistic 0.2
I tried to install Statistic module 0.2 on CMS 0.8.2 (the latest stable).
And I said that it was not working as when I take a look at the statistic fields, all tables are empty... It's like no data where collected/or/presented...
(Anyway, wow, you're so fast answering !)

Re: Statistic 0.2
Hi again
Did you insert the code snippet in a template or content page, as described in the help? I spend the last couple of days porting the module to 0.9 and perhaps I have ironed out a couple of bugs, but the 0.2 version worked for myself and for several other people, so... But as I said no more development will be done on that version. And as 0.9.0 of CMS should be out in a couple of days, I strongly recommend you to upgrade then.
Best regards

Statistic module
Ok, it works now...
It was not clear for me that is was necessary to include some calls to the module in the pages we wanted to be tracked (or to the template). I did it and it is now working. But you should add this in the help file of you're last release.
I tought calls to the module was motly used to display a counter, and I've just discovered that it was also used for that. Unfortunately, I can't succeed in displaying a counter (txt or gfx), nothing is displayed (and there is also nothing in the source code).
I'm still using CMS 0.8.2 and Statistics 0.2. I can't switch so fast to the 0.9 cms version so I don't plan to do it in the next days, sorry.

One last thing, you sould leave the 0.2 version available to download for all those who are still using 0.8.x version of cms...

Ah, great! I know the documentation was lacking much, but the module is pretty early in development... I will put the 0.2 release back on, good idea!
I don't know why it isn't showing anything...
{cms_module module="statistics" how="txt"}
should always show the total count...
I'll upload a slightly tuned version of 0.2... maybe it works...

Does '/home/users/c/ct18phpnet/www/modules/Statistics/phpSniff.php' exist on the server? Make sure the path is exact.

Ok, problem fixed, it was my f*cking ftp client that was lowercasing every filename...
By the way wouldn't it be better to have everything lowercased ? So that there is no more problem of upper/lowercase... We would all know that everyting is lowercase. Is that a dream ?
So the module is now working except few things....
The 3 following are not displaying anything, is it because I've just installed it ? The stange thing is that the information are available in the 'Summary' page...
Years
Browsers
OS'es
Thanks anyway...
