FastCGI Error while trying to access admin area on IE8

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

FastCGI Error while trying to access admin area on IE8

Post by Tino »

Hi all,

I've recently installed CMSMS 1.6.6 onto a client's webspace and everything appeared to work fine. However I can't access the admin area through IE8, instead getting the following error:
FastCGI Error
The FastCGI Handler was unable to process the request.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Error Details:

•Error Number: 13 (0x8007000d).
•Error Description: The data is invalid.
HTTP Error 500 - Server Error.
Internet Information Services (IIS)
If I access it through Firefox I have no problems at all.

I'm using a different host from my usual one and, as this is the first install of CMSMS I have made with them, I assumed it must be something at their end. However having contacted them their response is that if it's working through Firefox, it must be a problem with the code.

I've done some searching and have come across a few threads where something similar is mentioned, but never with a solution.

Can someone please help?

Many thanks,
Tino

Have you looked in the system info page to see if you have any yellow ! or red X?...

I have one yellow ! (PHP register_globals (register_globals): On (True)) and one red x (config_file: 0666 Failure. config.php writable. It is more safe if you change permission to read-only)

I will change teh config.php permissions just now, but is the PHP error likely to be causing my problem?

Many thanks,

Maybe it has to do with using IIS which I have no idea about...

I'm not too familiar with IIS either - would this be something that would need sorted at the server/host end?

Can anyone else shed further light on this?

Many thanks,
