Using the { or } in a site, when not part of code

Hi
I'm running CMS Made Simple fro the first time and am running v0.12. Everything installed great and it's a a really cool product.
So far I have one question; how do I insert { or } into the web page? When I try it, CMSmadesimple obviously interprets what's to follow as code and errors.
