Editing content via dropdown selections

I'm developing a site where I want to allow the CMS administrator to choose to include certain content from dropdown boxes and multi-select boxes when editing a page. As far as I can tell, if I put a {content} tag in a template, the admin will get either a TinyMCE editor to edit the page content, or a one-line input box if I use the "oneline" attribute. But what if you want to restrict the admin to a predefined set of options? Can I specify that a dropdown list or multi-select box is displayed to the admin instead?  I'm thinking of something like the template variables in MODx.

Is it possible to do this in CMSms?
