How to insert a "*.pdf" file in a page

Post by twingoeasy »

Hello .
I am using CMSms 1.6 on a localhost environnement (Xampp) on Windows XP(SP3)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I would like to "insert" a "*.pdf" file in a regular page, so it could be displayed and eventualy printed.

so I placed the file ine the */uploads/images/ directory.
Then whithin TiNYMCE I tried 2 things unsucessfully :

1-"Insert / edit link" to the file:
In this case the *pdf file is shown in the "link/url Browse" pop-up windows
But when I click on the desired *pdf file ...nothing hapens !!!

2-"Insert / edit Image" :
In this case the "*.pdf" file , is not even made available in the  "link/url Browse" pop-up windows ...

I would be more than happy if sommeone could give me a solution ...
In advance thanks for your help

The first option should work. If the url is correct the PDF can be downloaded, or opened if you have Adobe Reader or Acrobat installed. If you're trying to open the PDF in a popup-window it may be blocked by the browser's popup-blocker. Then you have to allow it before you can open it.

The second option won't work because PDF is not an image.
