I am trying to upgrade from 1.5.3 -> 1.6.4 I downloaded the base tarball (cmsmadesimple-1.6.4-base.tar.gz) and extracted it into the project. Then ran install/upgrade.php in the browser. But I am receiving these errors: "ERROR: The CGExtensions module could not be found."
I do have CGExtensions installed. I checked the cms_module database table and the CGExtensions record is in there. I checked the files and the CGExtensions module is there, version 1.15.2.
Any ideas anyone?
Upgrade failed due to missing CGExtensions module
Re: Upgrade failed due to missing CGExtensions module
I've seen this too. Don't know what causes it, but I rename the modules directory to modules1 or something similar, and then load the page. Once the page has loaded successfully, I rename back to modules, and everything is good.
Re: Upgrade failed due to missing CGExtensions module
thanks jmcgin51, but that doesn't seem to work.
I renamed the 'modules' folder to 'modules1' refreshed the Checksum page and it did display the page without the error message. However, it did have some smarty errors on the page (see below). I reverted the 'modules1' folder back to 'module' and hit the submit button, but next page just gave the CGExtension error again. I repeated the process until the end but once I change the 'module1' folder back to its original name, I receive the CGExtension error again on the front-end and the back-end
"string(117) "Smarty error: [in upgrade1.tpl line 16]: syntax error: unrecognized tag 'cycle' (Smarty_Compiler.class.php, line 590)""

Re: Upgrade failed due to missing CGExtensions module
You may need to try to update CGExtensions to the llatest version. It could be the CGExtensions version you had installed may not work properly with the latest version of the CMSMS core.
Edit, you may also try uninstalling CGExtensions and re-installing it. There aren't too many settings (if any) that you will loose.

If all else fails, use a bigger hammer.

Re: Upgrade failed due to missing CGExtensions module
You could have just renamed the offending modules folder then did the upgrade, but most likely it's from a need to upgrade the module which might not work till you get the cmsms itself upgraded...
