[SOLVED] Errors after migration to new host

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

[SOLVED] Errors after migration to new host

Post by Fraserm »

Hi all,

I've just migrated my install of 1.5.3 to a new server. The database restoration and copy of all my files went smoothly enough, but there are problems now when I log in to my admin panel.

All the admin panel menu options for my add-in modules like "Questions" just show "--Add Me - Module: News string news--" for example.

When I visit the modules page my module are all listed there as installed.

I also find that my admin panel theme has changed to 'default' where before it was always 'ncleangray'! Why would that happen?

Please somebody give me a hand, it's now 3.30am here and I can't think this through on my own.

Make sure your config.php has been updated with your new server information.

Thank you ajprog,

You were, quite predictably, right. I had muddied the waters a little by transferring a domain name at the same time as I was trying this whole restore thing, so that meant that my modules/files weren't available via the domain that I was trying to access them via.

e.g. my 'previews path' should have been "/home/fhlinux131/c//user/htdocs/tmp/cache"

but at the time wasn't being recognized because the DNS changes i'd made earlier hadn't filtered through yet.

Try it again this morning and hey presto all is well.
