Exporting a module to xml

Talk about writing modules and plugins for CMS Made Simple, or about specific core functionality. This board is for PHP programmers that are contributing to CMSMS not for site developers

Exporting a module to xml

Post by pauline_hill »

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I don't seem to be able to find any answers anywhere.

Our developer has unfortunately had to leave midway through completing an important module for our cms sites and as a result we're having to unravel it, so to speak, and figure out how it works. We've made a few changes and would love to run some tests but we can't work out how to export it to xml in order to upload it to the site.

If you're able to help that would be fantastic.

Thanks,
Pauline.

Is it installed on another site?...

Most times if a module is to the point of being installed you can go 2 ways...

1) In extensions > modules you should see it and the xml export bottom on the right of it's name...

2) Go to site, FTP, and dowload the modules folder then you can upload it, FTP, to other sites...
