.12 Test Upgrade

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

.12 Test Upgrade

Post by thumbsucker »

Tried to upgrade .12 using a separate test site.

Replaced all the files.  Ran the upgrade script.  Upgrade script worked fine.

But get a blank page on index.php now.

Thank God I didn't use the live site...

I tried to upgrade using the install/upgrade.php script.
All seems to work well, the admin part functions. But the front shows a lot of cache errors.
This happened both with a clean install using an 'old' database as with a tar overwritting files in the 'old' directory and the same database copy. Both times I let the script update my tables to version 18.

So that clearly didn't work.

Then I installed the new 12 version on top of the previous version and used the 'old' database again.
I opted to use the install/install.php script and didn't let it create anything (no tables, no samples).
Then it worked :)

Code: Select all

tip:
always back-up your stuff (database and directories!)
So what is going on here?
Mambo sucks, that's why I am here.
Now they call it Joomla, but it still sucks!
