[SOLVED] Menus only showing level 1

I am new to CMSMS, but am really getting my head around the principles and really like it a lot.

I have been  experimenting with a new design for a current site and was doing fine until the menu stopped showing anything other than the first level.

Any suggestions as to what I have done and where to look for solutions?

Check the code for your menu, there's a couple of attributes you can play around with. For example:

{menu start_level='1' number_of_levels='1'}

Also check your CSS if you are using a menu that displays when you mouseover/hover then that is controlled in the stylesheets.

I put the menu tag elsewhere in my layout and it worked fine. So I turned to the menu CSS and I changed the Z-index and it worked. The menu was above a div that allowed the top level to show but hid the second level.

Good to have these snafus as I learn more every time.
