Language Switch - Content available for just ONE language but BOTH are displayed

hi,

i've created a lot of sites with CMSMS MLE and i'm really happy with this wounderful system!

but concerning my actual project i'm suffering on following problem.

my client's website is bi-lingual (en_US and de_DE); if a new page is created in english everything is fine. the language switcher does not display the "german" possibility. that's fine if you edit the german version of the page and fill out the title, menutext and content the language switcher offers the german-link to. that's also fine. but the problem is, that my client wants to delete some german content, titles and menutexts, BUT that's not possible. so the language switcher ALWAYS displays the german-link although my client does not want to publish the german page and wants to delete it's title, content, etc.

CMSMS has not possibility for reset primary fields (menu_text and content)
- If you have DB skill you can edit [cms_]content and empty content_name_de and menu_txt_de fields of that page
- If not, delete this page and re-add english page

thanks a lot for the explanation. i've already supposed that it will not work because of the issue you mentioned.

concerning these limitations i'm searching for another solution. could be like the following:

i could tell my customer to mark the language-version of the page somehow - like a small workaround. let's say he has to put a special letter - like a dot (.) for example in the title - and this language of the page is not going to be displayed in the language switch.

the problem is that i don't know how to find out the title of the other language. let's say the page is displayed in german. then i've to check if this page has a title like "." in english. how is that possible?

hi,

is there anybody outthere who maybe knows a solution or has a creative idea for that problem? 

or does anybody know how to get the title of the actual page, but in another language. e.g. i am on page "Contact" but i also need to get the title in another language (german) although i am on the english-page. how can i get that title? is there a function i can call like get_prop("35", "title", "en_us") ?
