[SOLVED]Tiny MCE intermittant operation.

Post by Aus Butterflies »

Hello again.

I am setting up a community site for a friend (http://gemfields.org.au) and am running into a problem.

The tinyMCE editor is only activating intermittently. this is happening throughout the whole content area, including pages, news, events, etc. It happens both when a new page is requested as well as when you try to edit a page.

I have turned on the WYSIWYG editor in both the front end and back end in admin.

This isn't a problem for me as such but quite a few of the contributors will be computer dummies, so an editor will be vital.

Any ideas on why this is happening?

This is the error I am getting in the browser when it seems to happen when editing a page:

Code: Select all

LINE: 165
CHAR: 1
ERROR: Expected identifier, string or number
URL: http://gemfields.org.au/admin/editcontent.php
When looking at line 165, this doesn't seem to make sense. When these errors come up, do they take into account the comments on the top of the page when determining the line number or should they be dismissed.

Any ideas would be a great help.

Thanks.

Thank you for your speedy informative reply.

The version is 1.5.4, it is doing the same thing on both the test server which is wampserver on windows vista, and also the live site on Linux. Both running late editions of php5 and mysql5.

Have tested this with both IE7 and FF3.

I can get it to reset correctly by control/F5 as suggested, which would be no problem if the site was for me, but it is not.

Have just updated the site on the test server to 1.6.1 and the problem seems to have gone away.

Perhaps it was a bad download of v 1.5.4

Anyway. All is sorted in that regard. Thanks.
