Way to change the root file

Hi, I was wondering if there is a way to change the root file.  (need to keep current site for now, which is .html), and add the CMSMS for now (I tired using indexCMS.php, So I can keep both parts working) but when I click on the links inside the site, it goes to index.php, which does not exist.

May be you don't need to change the name of index.php :
