AllWebMenus 5

Post by newebirl »

Hi
I am only new to CMS MS and only just getting my head around designing and using it.

I have a quick question!

Can AllWebMenus 5 Pro be intergrated into CMS Made Simple or is this a difficult process.

As i said, I'm only just learning CMS Made simple and I need to stay focused on what I am learning now.
It would be nice if someone can answer this for me.

Actually, it would be better to use CMSMS's Menu Manager instead of AllWebMenus, as it's part of the system design. There's no need to use an external menu creator.

Having said that, you could design your menu in AllWebMenus, then convert it to include it in CMSMS. There are tutorials on the Documentation Wiki.

Thanks Nullig

I have about 25-30 menus created with Allwebmenus and I would like to just drop them into CMSMS then over time create tempalates within CMSMS for each menu.

Might just take another look at the CMSMS menu manager again.

I have searched the CMSMS Wiki and can't find any information relating to AllWebMenus.

Can anyone point me to the information please.

The tutorials are not specific to AllWebMenus, but general instructions for converting templates/menus to CMSMS.

I managed to create a menu using AllWebMenus and place it in the site with no problems.

The only change I had to make was to add the full path to the .js page
Once that was done it all worked a treat.

I tried to do this before using Joomla and gave up after a week of trying.
With CMS MS it worked first time round.

Very impressive.  ;D

Hello,

We are Likno Software. We see that you need assistance with our program.

AllWebMenus script can be inserted in any html authoring tool, capable to create properly formatted html code.

The only thing relative to the authoring tool is to have the ability to manually insert a small identification code in the element where the menu should be attached, in case you want your menu to have an Element-related position.

There is not a plug-in for those CMS's, you can create a menu and then link the menu to your pages using AllWebMenus as a stand-alone tool.

Finally, you are welcome to contact us at support [AT] likno [DOT] com with any further inquiries you may have. Remember to quote your name, email and order ID of your purchase so as to speed up your support ticket.

Thank you

Thanks for your reply on this forum Likno

I did manage to get the menu working with very little effort.
I'd say I had it set-up within 30 minutes.

Now I know its simple to include AllWebMenus I will be using it on all my CMSMS websites.

Not to brag too much but I'm pretty sure I can make everyone of those menus with menu manager dynamically so you wouldn't have to go outside of CMS Made Simple to create a new menu every time you added a page...

By the way newebirl do you have a link to what you did or any menus you've made with it?...

Well it's pretty much just as I thought, looks almost like a combination of http://multiintech.com/ and http://multiintech.com/default/default_ ... lumns.html or one of the other 2 in that section...

But with out the slow drop, which I almost missed because it took so long I thought there wasn't any children, and I guess you don't care about SEO because spiders from google or any of the other search engines only read what the find in the source of the page, or anyone who may come to your site who uses a screen reader as they won't be able to navigate your site past the home page, which in some part of the EU is against the law...

I used to think those kind of menus were cool but when I started doing more sites and they got past 10 pages I got tired of having to add the page to the JS or to the flat files, that's one of the biggest reasons I started using a CMS, having something dynamically generate the menus was the coolest thing...

As I said in a previous post.

This is just a sample or as I like to put it "get it working" test site.

As for Likno
It is improving all the time, I have used it on lots of sites and never had a problem.

As a web designer I have quite a few clients wanting menu changes on all different platforms.
Its very easy for me to open there menu edit it then upload the files.
On top of that there would always be a complete footer menu so SEO or readers are not a problem.
which in some part of the EU is against the law...
Can you tell me where or give me an example as I would be very interisted in reading where this is written??

I believe it is not not against a "law" at all.
It is just against some accessibilty guidelines.

Try a google search and you will find plenty of documentation, note I said in some parts, and they are pushing for all of the EU partners to be compliant by 2010...

But hey if you want to exclude the some people with impairments that's your choice...

My only real point was that what you are using is not needed, it can all be done in HTML/CSS and for more fancy stuff add some js/jquery, that will degrade in browsers that don't use JS, with what you have now if JS is turned off no menu is shown...

BTW: why no response from the Likno Customer Support person, do they know they sell something that doesn't let the less fortunate get access to sites using their system, or do they just not care as long as they get their $$$...
