Ok, you asked for it!

get a more coherent color palet. I have seen sort-of yellow, sort-of blue and sort-of red. (and hard blue and yellow in the table, which is btw correctly used for tabular data) that is combined with all black fonts on a white or grey background.
Find yourself a colorscheme picker, or just ask the lady to pick some (3 or 4) colors that she could wear together. then get some images to go with those. (you might like this link:
http://krazydad.com/colrpickr/index.php?group=flowers but be sure to get permission before you use the pictures) If you do not trust the ladies color taste much, let her pick a colorscheme based on a page in one of her magazines. (there is luckily no copyright on a bunch of colors)
Black fonts are great, but you could try to use colored -headings.
The css menu is too empty to be really usefull. Some entries drop down and some don't. I would get rid of the dropdown effect. put those 2-3 pages in the toplevel, or just make sure you have a clear links to the contact form etc. in the parent pages.
Thanks Jelle, great comments!
I agree on colors, blue and yellow is contrast colors and really hard to combine. I LOVE that link u provided, thx a lot!

That's the way it should be. I'll forward it and we'll work on layout with that in mind.
And yes, ur right about menu, skip the sub-menus. In fact I really dont like the layout of the menu at all. Maybe put it somewhere else too. Like a couple of links in the text, in the corner or above or something.
And decrease black and white contrast as well, good point.
Feels like I wanna start all over with this site. We've been to occupied with functions and content. Layout is a growing process I guess. Hard to know what layout to use before u know what content is gonna be like, and viceversa.
Thanks! Keep'em comming
