At the moment i have a basic website using CMSMS. I love the way the system works and more importantly, how easy it is to template it. However, ive been asked to add some form of shop system. I have already a barebones shopping cart written in PHP so its just a case of having a front end that would allow me to send products to this shopping cart so they can be bought using paypal, credit card etc. I am thinking how to do it because i really do not want to add the OScommerce package as its so bloated and over the top for the needs of most people. It seems so overkill. Anyway I have never liked OScommerce as its a right pain to customise its look and doesnt work right with templating. If i knew PHP I would write it myself but can someone give me an idea of how easy it is to do this?
I see there is a module called Cataloger but it is a non-ecommerce cataloging system. How easy would it be to extend it so all it does is to pass a few parameters to a separate shopping cart with an add to cart button? If this is way over my head, I will go back and say its not something I can do but if it sounds reasonable to implement, I'll give it a go. It would be nice to see any existing website that is using it so I can get a feel of what it does unmodded? Anyone know of a site that uses it? Thanks
what does anyone else think? I've not had a look at the Cataloger module to see if its capable to do what I want it to do as this isnt my PC and and I cant open the file but will look later. Does it sound possible to mod?
Thanks

Re: adding a shop to the website
I'll have a look into it but its not really what i am looking for as its too powerful for what I need. I am looking for a very basic e-commerce solution to keep the site simple for both me and the users. I dislike OScommerce and its spin offs because even though templating is possible with Zen Cart, its not ideal.
Thank you

ah, thanks for that. It will be interesting to see the progression with that one.
It does look much simplier from what I can tell.

Any experience from this module ? Is it working ? Is it still developped. Look interesting.
