What am I doing wrong if I have mod_rewrite pretty URLs turned on, but my News module does not output pretty URLs?
All of my News links look like this:
http://www.mysite.com/index.php?mact=Ne ... rticleid=4
Running CMSMS 1.5.3 and News 2.9.3. Linux/Apache environment with PHP 5.2.9 and MySQL 5.0.
I do have use_hierarchy turned off in my config file. Would this make a difference?
I've searched the forums, and it looks like pretty News URLs are now the default, so I'm a little confused about why they aren't working for me.
Thanks!
EDIT TO ADD:
Turning use_hierarchy ON enabled pretty URLs from the News module. The problem is, though, that I don't want a hierarchy for my normal pages. Also, if this is normal behavior, it should be documented in the News help, and in the config file itself.

jmcgin51, I could maybe write a mod write for you, but you would have to get the New module to output the new urls.

thanks for the offer CWebguy
I think I'm just going to live with the non-pretty News URLs for now.
I guess maybe this is a feature request, though: to be able to use pretty News URLs without having the overall hierarchy turned on.
