quota limit exceeded needs some alternative feedback

Post by zsero »

I don't know what, but I have been using cmsms for more than 2 years on a site, and last week I upgraded to 1.5.3 (i have been upgraded before many times), and it was working for a week perfectly, but now, the site become broken, with no possible login to the admin area and only a blank white page in the first page with this code:

Code: Select all

<!-- 0.196371 / 9 / 10318832 / 10705808 -->
The solution was to manually delete the whole tmp directory and reupload it from the original tar.gz. Now my whole site is running and the login works too.

I am not a dev, I don't know what it means, but I never run into any issue like this for 2 years before.

UPDATE:

I have discovered that the problem was that the site was exceeding the quota limit. So it was 99% my problem, maybe 1% for cmsms was that it could respond differently, not with a totally blank page saying the code above.

The tmp and any folders in it can have all the files not FOLDERS, except index.html, deleted from them, they are just a caching mechanism...

Yes, now I know how to solve, I just didn't know from the total blank page, that my page got hacked, a php system is down, or what did happen. It was a hard time, till I realized that nobody hacked into my site, just a quota is exceeded.

That's why I suggested some alternative text message to the front or admin page when the tmp is not writeable.
