Does TinyMCE ever install properly?

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

Does TinyMCE ever install properly?

Post by j4web »

I am trying to install on my server and have learned to use the checksum.dat files to see what files are missing.

Pretty much just in modules/

TinyMCE
CMSMailer
Printing

and in admin/themes

NCleanGray

I have uploaded brand new folders of TinyMCE *several* times now ... does TinyMCE ever install correctly??

What is the issue with this folder that it never goes correctly? I just do not understand this at all....

I've installed numerous CMSMS installs, never once have I had an issue with Tiny. You may want to try a different FTP program or Zip program. You can also try uploading the entire tar.gz package and unpacking it on the root or in cpanel if you have access to either of those.
If all else fails, use a bigger hammer.

Dumb question then ... I have the tar.gz file and since I have been fighting this for 3+ hours I am willing to try something new.

Do I have to delete all my exisitng files?

How do I upload a tar.gz and unzip it there?

I have cpanel access, so maybe instructions for there.

And FWIW, I have a good quality paid FTP program, so I am not convinced that is my issue.

But willing to try the other way, any assistance to this person who has never done it that way would be appreciated.

When installing CMSMS and I have cpanel access I go into the file manager in cpanel and upload the tar.gz file there. The file manager in my cpanel also allows me to select the uploaded tar.gz and decompress it.

It's more reliable because you are not relying on a FTP client to properly upload 1000's of files and it is quicker. It is faster to upload one larger file and decompress it than it is to FTP loads of smaller files.

I wanted to let you all know I did do the tar.gz upload into cpanel/file manager and uncompress there.

I was ultimately able to get the install working (not the smarty error but the main install).

I should note that I did end up using the base version and not the full version so maybe there was a difference there too.

Thanks much for the help and directions. It is appreciated.
