No Admin

Post by paranoidandroid »

Hi, I think I followed the install instructions pretty exactly, not to mention that I've installed a couple dozen of these kinds of scripts, so I have at least some idea of what I'm doing. But I can't access my admin. I put everything as is in my root folder, all permissions correct, I got an 'success' message on everything during the install, but no admin. Where exactly does the 'cms' come into play in the path? There isn't a folder named 'cms' in the install. This is the path that shows with the admin link on the frontpage:

http://mydomain.com/cms/admin/admin/

So I don't know why there's a 'cms' folder there in the path (unless I should have deleted the 'cms_' prefix during install?), and I don't know why 'admin' shows twice. When I type the actual path to the admin, it just reloads the front page.

So can someone tell me what I have to edit exactly where?

TIA! :)

P.S. I'm using the latest beta version.

I suspect some problem with the .htaccess file. I replaced the one in there with a blank one and now the 'cms' has disappeared from the path. However, the 'admin' is still repeated twice and I still can't access the admin by typing the true path. Any suggestions?

It should be http://mydomain.com/admin/index.php if you installed it to http://mydomain.com/

Sorry, I thought I made it clear in my original post that I did install to my root directory and that I had tried typing the actual, real path to the admin. Still nada. It just returns me to the frontpage. I'm not seeing a login.

Thanks.

Okay, nevermind, all is well. The problem was indeed my .htaccess file. I did a bit of editing and now everything's working fine.  :)
