Can Adding News Links in menu as a child to a Page be done?

First time to use CMSMS and I'm loving it, however having trouble with getting the news module to work with the menus.

I'm using CMS 1.5.2. I have a page template built that pulls in news articles by a category. What I'd like to happen is that when someone opens one of the news articles the left navigation will display the other news items from that category in the navigation as a child to the Page it came from.

I figured out how to show the page (parent), but I'm not sure how to get the news items to
a) list under the parent
b) and use my css for menus to display as a child .active (maybe that will happen automatically if I can get them to list)
