[solved- after a fashion] Tiny MCE loses WYSIWYG

Post by Andrew Prior »

My hosting provider is slowly changing it's webserver ip numbers: now got its own IP range.
Each time it has done this (two so far) I have lost the WSIWYG funtion of TinyMCE, like only html in the content blocks etc. Config.php has the domain names, by the way, not the IP no for the root address.
I have repaired it in one case by upgrading to CMMAdeSimple 1.5, although even this took some time to start working; just seemed to start after a few hours, and the http link gui does not work.

Does anyone know if there is anywhere in TinyMCE that might be relating to IP nos instead of the domain names, or have any other suggests. The config.php files are all ok.  My main site is due for change shortly and I am very nervous!!

This just happened in my latest installation. Has anyone found a reason?

The permissions on the folder are '755' as another post revealed, but it is still not showing the editor.

It does appear to be a permissions problem, the question is just where!  I fixed the issue on two sites in the following manner: After a full backup of everything to be safe, I removed the entire contents of the public folder ie deleted them down to a folder on my machine via ftp.  I then loaded them backu up and viola!! all works.  My ISP says that indicates that permissions were changed somewhere and the reloading of the files in the way I did it reset the permissions.  Whatever really happened it all now works.  This was not achieved by reloading the TinyMCE module alone.  Andrew
