Module development

Post by eddie67 »

Hello, good folks.

I am currently given the job of porting a website for a school to a different language.
In the process, I want to port it to CMSMS also..

The case is like this:

The current site in question can bee seen at www (dot) axelsons (dot) se
My job is to make the same site for www (dot) axelsons (dot) no, i.e. the Norwegian equivalent.

The system in use is horrible, some .NET thing running on IIS server.
So naturally I want to convert it to CMSMS.

Most I can do myself, the layout, text and the like.

What I can NOT do myself is to make a module for booking classes/sessions.

This is a school. They want students.
Students click a course, and then book it through a custom form.
Please click any course in the left menu at the .se domain, then at the link appearing at the right hand side, there are a "dropdown" or what you call it, then there is a form. (horribally made, this one. I want to make it simpler..)
So this is the front-end.

In the back-end, this module has to be easily maintained for the course-admin (normally a woman in heir 50's with little data-knowledge). So, for the admin it has to be easy to click "Add Course", enter price, date, all nessesary info and hit "submit".
This course then, will have its own form built (every course has a form, same form but course-specific).
Also, this course, when click on a "publish"-button, will automatically appear in the menu!
So somewhere there has to be possible to select a section..
Lastly, the course is date-specific, so if the course is march 3, on marc 4 then, the course has to be "unbublished" automaticcaly.

Thats about it.

Oh, yes, naturally I want to use htaccess rewrite to get nice URL's, and use the nice features in CMSMS to add META and TITLE.

I need help with this module, also I need help with the menu-manager, to define the variables (this is not my strong side..).

Please give an apx quote and timescedule.

This is not in a hurry this one, better safe than sorry. Within 2-3 month will do.

I can not promise anything, though, I will take your qoute to the boss. Unfortunately thats not me, the boss will then decide wether to use CMSMS or to use the current system.
If it is not too expencive, chanses are good (the sysem in use naturally has a license fee..).

Thanks for your time to read this, and if you are interested, please contact me through the PM function, or post here in this tread.

Regards
Eddie.
